CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.

Start on a Demo, Not on a Deposit — Cambodia

A first-time trader does not need every feature on day one. This site walks the entry route in order: a free practice account, one written plan, a first small live trade and a first withdrawal run as a test. Terms can change, so check the current details before trading.

Getting started works best in a fixed order. Open a free demo account, learn the order ticket on virtual money, write a one-page plan, run it for several weeks, then move a deliberately small amount to a live Standard or Standard Cent account and request one small withdrawal as a test. Exness accounts open on MT4, MT5, the Exness Terminal and the Exness Trade app; Standard and Standard Cent have no minimum initial deposit, and the account base currency is chosen when the account is opened.

The route, step by step

The rest of the route: the practice account, a first written plan, working out the lot size, the pre-deposit checklist and the withdrawal test.

Before the first deposit

Four things are worth settling before any money moves: verification finished, the account type and base currency chosen, a written plan that has survived several weeks on a demo, and the lot size for the first live trade already worked out. A deposit made before those are in place buys nothing that free practice would not have given. Exness has operated as a global multi-asset broker since 2008, and independent Exness reviews on Trustpilot are worth reading with the same scepticism as any other source. CFDs carry a high risk of losing money — confirm the latest terms before depositing.

The order these steps are taken in

Almost every avoidable beginner loss comes from doing step four before step one. Funding an account is quick and feels like progress; learning where the stop loss goes on the order ticket is slow and feels like homework. The account that survives the first year is the one where the homework happened first.

The practice stage has an end condition, and it is worth writing down at the start: a few dozen trades taken under the same rules, logged, with the reason for each entry recorded before the outcome was known. Not a profit target — a sample size. A demo run that ends because it got boring has proved nothing at all.

Only then does money enter, and it enters small. A first live balance exists to test whether the plan survives contact with a real position, which is a psychological question rather than a technical one. The size that answers it honestly is the size you would shrug at losing.

Four things a first month does not need

It does not need a second instrument. One market, watched at the same hours every day, teaches more in a month than six markets glanced at.

It does not need more indicators. A moving average for direction and one momentum tool are enough; a crowded chart mostly produces contradictions to argue with.

It does not need the professional account tiers. Tighter spreads matter to someone who already knows what a spread costs them, and a beginner does not yet.

It does not need a bigger balance. Nothing about a larger deposit makes the platform easier to learn, and it makes every mistake more expensive to make.

Questions a first-time trader asks

Where should a complete beginner start?
On a free demo account. It runs on live market prices with virtual money, so the first weeks of mistakes — the wrong lot size, a forgotten stop loss, an order sent in the wrong direction — cost time and nothing else.
How long should the demo stage last?
Long enough to collect a few dozen trades under the same written rules, which usually takes several weeks. The demo ends when the plan has evidence behind it, not when it stops being interesting.
What has to be settled before the first deposit?
Verification finished, the account type and base currency chosen, a plan that has survived the demo run, and the lot size for the first live trade already worked out. A deposit made before those four buys nothing that free practice would not have given.
How small can a first live trade be?
Small enough that losing it changes nothing about the week. A Standard Cent account prices balances and lots in cents, which makes it the smallest real step off a demo.
Can forex and CFDs be traded from here?
Rules differ by jurisdiction — check what applies where you live. This site covers the accounts, the platforms and the order in which the first steps are worth taking.
Which currency is the account kept in?
The base currency is chosen when the account is opened, from the options shown on the sign-up form. A payment sent in another currency is converted into the account currency by the payment provider.

What traders say about Exness:

★☆☆☆☆
Exness. They're terrible, thieves! I swear, it dropped 300 points in a minute! Another broker didn't let it drop like that. This drop was just to make me lose money. They're thieves and scammers!

Bank card not being accepted. The reason I can’t deposit money is because when I put in my card holder name it says it’s not correct, even though I put it exactly how it is on the card, multiple times
