MetaTrader 5 (MT5) — Cambodia

MT5 gives a beginner more than a beginner needs, which is fine as long as most of it is ignored on purpose — two of its additions are genuinely useful in a first month.

MetaTrader 5 gives a beginner more than a beginner needs, which is fine as long as most of it is ignored on purpose. It is free, works with every Exness account type, and adds 21 timeframes, depth of market, six pending order types and a built-in economic calendar. For a first month the useful additions are exactly two: the calendar, which explains why a market suddenly moved, and the extra timeframes, used sparingly.

The two additions worth using in month one

The economic calendar, read before the session rather than after a surprise. A beginner does not need to trade the news to benefit from knowing when it lands; knowing when to stay out is the more useful half of it.

A second timeframe, and only one. Checking the direction on a higher timeframe before taking an entry on the working one is a discipline that fits on the plan's single page. A third timeframe usually just supplies a reason to override the first two.

What the extra order types are really for

MT5 offers six pending order types against MT4's four, including stop-limit variants. They exist to solve execution problems that a beginner has not met yet, and choosing between them at the ticket is a good way to send the wrong one.

The recommendation for a first month is blunt: market orders with a stop loss and a take profit attached, and nothing else. Pending orders are added later, one type at a time, each rehearsed on a demo before it is used live.

Questions a first-time trader asks

Should a beginner choose MT4 or MT5?
Either works, and both connect to the same Exness account. MT4 has less to ignore; MT5 has an economic calendar built in. The choice matters far less than having a written plan.
Is MT5 free on Exness?
Yes. MetaTrader 5 is free to download and use with an Exness account on desktop, web and mobile.
Do beginners need depth of market?
No. It answers questions about order flow that a first plan does not ask, and it is easy to misread as a signal.
How many timeframes should a first plan use?
One to trade and at most one above it for direction. MT5 offers 21, and using more of them mostly produces contradictions to argue with.
